WHAT DOES A CONSULTATION FOR LIP AUGMENTATION TYPICALLY ENTAIL?

During a lip augmentation consultation, Denise will listen as you explain your issues with your lips and your aesthetic goals for improving them. She will then determine if you are a good candidate for lip augmentation by taking a thorough medical history and examining your lips and mouth. She will answer all your questions and discuss the risks and costs associated with lip augmentation.

HOW LONG DOES TREATMENT TAKE?

Lip filler appointments last around 30-60 minutes, including the consultation, assessment, consent form, aftercare advice and carrying out the injections.

HOW LONG WILL THE TREATMENT LAST FOR?

This depends on which type of lip filler you opt for:
For instance standard Juverderm Ultra  is expected to last between 6 – 9 months
Premium Juverderm Volift or Vobella  Lip is expected to last from 12 – 18 months
Denise will guide you when you’re choosing whether to have standard or premium fillers, depending on your individual requirements

WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO SEE THE RESULTS?

The results are  visible immediately. Your lips will be quite large and swollen at first; you will begin to notice a difference in your lips as the swelling subsides during the first week after your procedure.

ARE LIP AUGMENTATION INJECTIONS PAINFUL?

Discomfort is significantly reduced through Denise’s advanced injecting techniques. It is further reduced by the application of anaesthetic cream. Dermal filler choice also plays its part in reducing discomfort further. At DC Cosmetics products  such as Juvéderm Ultra Smile, Juvéderm Volbella and  Juvéderm Volift   for lips are specially formulated for lip plumping and contain lidocaine which numbs the lips further during the injection process.

WILL MY LIPS LOOK NOTABLY DIFFERENT?

This is dependent on the desired look you want to achieve. For example, some of our patients are looking for subtle results if they already have moderately full lips, whereas some patients with very thin lips ask for a fuller lip shape. Denise will talk you through your expectations and then tailor the treatment to your requirements.

IS LIP ENHANCEMENT SAFE?

Hyaluronic acid is a safe and natural product. As an intrusive and easy treatment, lip enhancement is incredibly safe

HOW CAN I ACHIEVE A NATURAL AESTHETIC RESULT?

Denise knows the ideal lip proportions are when the bottom lip is one and a half times the fullness of the top lip
She will  separate your lips into two treatment areas – the vermillion borders and the main body of your lips.
The vermillion borders are basically ‘tunnels’ that run along the top and bottom of each lip. And they’re key to achieving a great result.
Careful placement of filler into the lip borders gives them better definition, fills out smokers lines and gives you a subtle, natural pout.
BUT – the outer edges of your upper lip need to be avoided. Otherwise, the filler turns the corners of your top lip upwards and outwards, causing the dreaded TROUT POUT. Due to Denise’s advanced training at Cosmetic Courses she will has the knowledge and expertise to prevent this.
